             abstract = "The classification of marine biogeochemical provinces (PBGQ) 
                         provides a useful framework for understanding the mechanisms of 
                         interaction and control of physical, chemical and biological 
                         processes that reflect the heterogeneity of the oceanic 
                         environment in different locations on the planet. Studies focused 
                         on the variability of the Atlantic Ocean in recent years, has been 
                         an important issue for the understanding of processes and 
                         phenomena that impact directly on society. Thus, the objective of 
                         this work consists in partitioning the South Atlantic Ocean in 
                         PBGQ through an unsupervised cluster method named Fuzzy C-Means 
                         (FCM), using remote sensing, modelling and in situ data in the 
                         period from 2006 to 2015. Through the Silhouette criterion, 9 
                         clusters were suggested as input number to FCM algorithm where the 
                         elements were better represented in their respective groups. The 
                         obtained partition of South Atlantic Ocean is related to the 
                         presence of oceanographic features and processes and with the 
                         associated variables here used for their delimitation, specially 
                         sea surface temperature, mixed layer depth and chlorophyll-a 
                         concentration.",
